SoleTraderTaxCalculator.co.uk is the data controller for personal data processed through this website. We are an independent UK personal finance calculator publisher. For any privacy question, correction request or data-protection concern, contact us at privacy@soletradertaxcalculator.co.uk.
We process personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
When you enter profit, income, pension or other values into a calculator, those inputs are used to compute your estimate and are not stored on our systems as personal financial records. The calculation runs per request and the figures you enter are not retained against your identity.
Some inputs may appear as query parameters in your browser URL so that a result can be shared or reloaded. These exist only to regenerate the calculation and are not used to build a profile of you.
Analytics data: aggregate, non-identifying information about how pages are used (for example page views, approximate region and device type), collected through Google Analytics with IP anonymisation enabled and Google signals disabled.
Advertising data: where advertising is enabled, Google may collect data to serve and measure adverts, as described below.
Contact data: if you use the contact form or email us, we receive the name, email address and message you provide, solely to respond to and record your query.
We do not ask for or store financial account details, and we do not sell personal data.
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage and improve the site. IP addresses are anonymised and Google signals (cross-device advertising features) are turned off. The legal basis is your consent, given through the cookie banner, or our legitimate interest in understanding aggregate site usage where analytics runs in a privacy-preserving mode.
You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using Google's browser add-on, and you can decline optional cookies using our cookie banner.
This site may display adverts served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve adverts based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure advert performance.
We use Google Consent Mode. Until you accept optional cookies, advertising is requested in a non-personalised mode where supported. If you consent, Google may use cookies for personalised advertising. You can review and control Google's use of data at google.com/technologies/ads, and manage personalised advertising through your Google account or the cookie banner on this site.
We use a small number of cookies and similar storage: an essential record of your cookie choice, privacy-configured Google Analytics cookies, and, where advertising is enabled and consented to, Google advertising cookies. Full details, including cookie names, are on our cookie policy page.
You can accept or decline optional cookies through the banner shown on your first visit, and change your mind at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
We rely on consent for optional analytics and advertising cookies (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)); on legitimate interests for keeping the site secure and understanding aggregate usage (Article 6(1)(f)); and, where you contact us, on our legitimate interest in responding to and recording your query.
Calculator inputs are not retained as personal records. Aggregate analytics data is retained in line with Google Analytics settings (up to 14 months for user and event data). Messages you send us are kept only as long as needed to handle your query and any follow-up, then deleted.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email privacy@soletradertaxcalculator.co.uk.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
